  APPLICATION TIPS

How do you mark pipes?
Tape of resistant material should be placed around the pipe on a clean surface with an overlap of a few centimetres; it sticks best on its own “back”.

If the pipe's external diameter is:
- 25 mm or more the minimum text height must be 12 mm and the width of the marking tape at least 150 mm
- 25 mm or less, the minimum acceptable text height is 6 mm and the width of the marking tape 75 mm

Marking tape, signs and suchlike that are used in demanding environments (outdoors, industrial) must withstand a pipeline temperature of 85° C and be resistant to UV radiation. Laminated tape must not form layers. Should not be applied when the temperature is below 0° C.

The marking must consist of CLEAR TEXT, COLOUR and ARROW. Pipelines for gas or liquid that can entail a risk to health and safety shall in addition be marked with hazard symbols.

Correct and comprehensive marking requires signs and valve tags for equipment, pumps and valves.

Where do you mark pipes?
Pipes must be marked where they ENTER and EXIT premises respectively. At main- and section shut-off valves, equipment connections, junctions, mixer valves and other connection options. However, not so close that they are damaged in conjunction with servicing valves. Mark every 20 metres at least once per room.

Pipelines for gas or liquid that can entail a risk to health and safety shall be marked with a maximum distance of 5 m between marking points.

Marking Pipes
Clean the surface.
Measure the length and allow the marking tape to overlap by a few centimetres.
Cut.
Marking Pipes
Pull off the protective film as the tape is applied. Position the text labels in the self-adhesive window that is marked in the arrow.
Marking Pipes
Apply around the entire pipe and put pressure on the overlap for perfect adhesion. Fast, simple and reliable.

TOP-System   TIP-System
The TOP system
75 mm text and 75 mm arrow = 150 mm and can be used down to ½” pipes.
  The TIP system
Can be used down to 35 mm pipes, for smaller pipes MINI-TIP is used
